Shri Sathya Sai Vidya Kendra, Chokkady is run under the Divine guidance and blessings of Bhagawan Shri Satya Sai Baba. It was on the 30th January 1979 that Bhagawan Baba graced with his Divine Presence to this location and materialised a “SWARNA VATAPATRA” and blessed the people of Chokkady. Later a beautiful Mandir was constructed by the devotees of Chokkady. To show his immense love and compassion, He also materialised a “SHIVALINGAM’’ to be installed in the Sai Mandir.
In 1988 with the divine blessings and guidance of Baba, we started a residential primary school near the Mandir.
Subsequently in 1995, we started the residential higher primary school and in 1998, the residential high school section was started. This institution is run by Bhagawan Shri Sathya Sai Seva Trust, Chokkady. Presently this institution has facilities such as, well equipped school building, laboratories, Atal Tinkering Laboratory, Computer lab, play ground and service centre.
Moral and spiritual education based on the five fundamental universal human values SATHYA, DHARMA, SHANTHI, PREMA and AHIMSA is imparted here without discrimination on the basis of caste, religion, language, region, rich or poor. Faith in fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man is imparted through Balavikas classes, prayers, bhajans and stories drawn from different religions of the world. Our institution aims at imparting to the young boys and girls, the education of modern times based on the Gurukula system of Education with the values of glorious Indian culture. Students are expected to learn values like duty, discipline, devotion, mutual co-operation, patriotism, sincerity, fearlessness, selfless service, obedience etc.
The all-round development of students is facilitated by encouraging them to participate in the talent shows, debates, quiz, art, Geetha reciting, Veda chanting, Yoga classes, Karate, including cultural activities like, Classical music, Bharathanatya , Yakshgana and student clubs, Science clubs, and educational associations with sports and games and community services.
We have a well-trained and dedicated band of teaching staff that live with the students and try whole heartedly to the all-round development of the students.
We provide computer education to the students from 1st std to 10th std according to the text book curriculum
